The Control
Rooms unit of Barco Projection Systems, a Belgium-based provider of image generation
solutions, will be increasing the efficiency and availability of its eMaintenance
service solutions through the deployment of X-Transport, a complete and cost-effective
Transportation sub-system which augments Unicenter TNG functionality, from Project
X Technologies.
With a worldwide
market share of over 50 percent and nearly 800 mission critical installations,
Barco Projection Systems' Control Rooms set the standard in professional control
and operations centers. Barco couples advanced visual display and control-ware
technology with consulting, training and support services to empower control
center activities around the world for different markets such as networking
and communications, traffic and transportation, public utility, broadcasting
and process control.
Leveraging the
automated and remote support management functionality provided by Unicenter
TNG, Barco plans to offer highly affordable eMaintenance contracts for customers
requiring advanced Control Room support services, complete with proactive maintenance
and planning capabilities. In addition, Project X Technologies
is working with Barco to develop customized device agents capable of monitoring
the performance of a wide variety of heterogeneous devices found in a typical
Barco Control Room. These solutions will enable rapid diagnosis of technical
issues before critical control room operations are affected without the need
for on site visits by Barco technicians.
"To more efficiently
support the round-the-clock, mission critical needs of our customers, we sought
the help of an expert eBusiness management partner who could add proactive system
maintenance capabilities to our portfolio," said Jean-Marie Vanalderweireldt,
business unit manager of Barco Control Rooms. "Integrating Unicenter TNG into
our Control Room solution enables Barco's worldwide engineering team to easily
detect, cure and even predict system issues remotely, and with maximum cost
effectiveness."
